Begin your tour of the beautiful Northwest from the town of Burlington, with tour vehicles departing along Highway 9 from the Burlington Park and Ride lot, stopping in Sudden Valley, Whatcom Falls Park, and Chuckanut along the way. A pack lunch is provided, along with several opportunities for pictures and a short nature hike around the waterfalls in Whatcom Falls Park. There's even a little shopping time thrown in for good measure! Total trip lasts approximately 4-5 hours, with departures in the morning leaving as early as 9AM. This tour is generally available year-round, and we always recommend checking the weather and dressing accordingly! Comfortable shoes are a must for the walk along the paths at the park.

Weather permitting, our tour guides offer the "Ice Cave Drive" along the Mountain Loop Highway. This tour is more active, with hiking stops at the Granite Falls Fish-ladder and the Ice Caves. Our first stop at the Granite Falls Fish Ladder takes us for a short one-quarter mile stroll down to the waterfalls and the Salmon ladders. Once we're done there, we'll head up the road to the Big Four Picnic area, and hike for approximately one mile from the parking area to the base of Big Four Mountain, right up to the entrance to the Ice Caves. A shorter hike can be made through the wetlands connecting the Ice Caves Trailhead and the Big Four Picnic Area, and while both trails are well maintained, this shorter section is accessible to persons of all abilities. A pack lunch is provided after the hike in the Big Four Picnic Area before we return to Lake Stevens. Trip time runs approximately 4-5 hours, with departures in the morning leaving as early as 9AM. Due to ever-changing conditions, we always recommend checking the weather and dressing accordingly! As hiking is main focus on this trip, we also recommend comfortable walking shoes and outerwear.
